This thesis is based on the project, the automatic testing system of the electronic cabinet for SS4G locomotive. After studied the principle of the fault diagnosis of the electron equipment and the theory of the automatic testing system, we studied the automatic testing system and its fault diagnosis and applied it to practice.By analyzing the working process of the electronic cabinet, presenting the hardware model of the main circuit and the traction motor which enable the whole electronic cabinet testing. We divided the whole electronic cabinet testing into partial functional module by the possible working states of the locomotive. Using the theory of fault diagnosis tree in the module testing which enable us to ascertain the faults in board. The same method is also used in single board testing through which we can ascertain the fault in the unit as small as we can. Thereby brief the fault diagnosing and enhance the diagnosis accurately and rapidly.
