As the basic equipment of electric energy production, motor play very important role in safety and stability of the whole power system. When operating, the motor's operation status and performance, decided by the distribution and alteration that the electromagnetic inside the motor, So, it's very important to research the electromagnetic when we try to research and design a motor. In the paper, we use the finite-element method(FEM) as the theoretical basis and the soft ANSOFT as the emulation tools to analysis the electromagnetic inside the motor. As a powerful method, almost all of the field that relate to analysis motor and others electromagnetic problem, we use FEM as the unique method to analys those problem. The preprocessing of the FEM is critical to the accuracy and efficiency of the FEM solving process. At the same time, the mesh generation technology is the focal point of the preprocessing. The mesh auto generation technology is very hot in the field of FEM research.Conventional analysis for internal fault is mainly on the steady changing situation of current and voltage. This paper based the analysis and comparison on the variation of the electromagnetic parameter inside the motor. To judgment a motor operating in normal or fault status by analysis it's electromagnetic, at the same time, to diagnosis the motor's operation status by field is a leading edge subject at the present time.In this paper, we use the soft ANSOFT to emulate electromagnetic inside the motor, in the first, we create the motor's physical model, then emulate and analysis the motor's electromagnetic when the motor operating in normal and fault status. It is very important to build the motor's physical model, so we utilize the RMXPRT module to build the motor's physical model, and the Ansoft 2D Transient module to emulate and analysis the electromagnetic status inside the motor. Then, after the reprocessing to the solution, we can diagnose the motor's operating status and judge the motor operating in normal or fault status. At the same time, this paper analysis and emulate a cage motor's electromagnetic and skin effect when it launching.
