Light steel structure is young and vital, bearing system is made of thin walled section efficient light, the envelope is made of light materials.This kind of structure system not only has the advantages of light weight, high strength, but also compared with traditional reinforced concrete structure, it has lower cost and a shorter construction cycle, Therefore,This gives it a huge and growing field to play on. When people design the light steel structure, only regard the pressure plate as the roof and walls of building envelope, pressure plate is not involved in the force structure of the system. When the pressure plate and steel framing members using a reliable connection, envelope composed by the pressure plate can bear the load plane, being a part of the force structure of the composition, working together to participate in the overall structure of the system, increasing the structural rigidity, this phenomenon is called the skin effect of light steel.As a large number of engineering examples show that, whether or not considering the stressed skin effect of pressure plate design, skin effect is objective existence in the actual engineering structure. If we use the skin effect of profiled steel sheet in a rational way, it can make the housing structure stress more in line with the actual situation, and can reduce the section size of steel components, significantly reduce the engineering cost. Therefore, how to reflect the effect of skin diaphragms efficiently and accurately in practical engineering design is a subject that is worth scholars spend time and effort to study.According to the existing literature, experts and scholars at home and abroad on the shear performance of pedal, pedal fitting the shear properties, several factors affecting the skin effect and skin effect of door frame workshop and so on a large number of theory and experiment research, but the whole structure of multi story light steel residential system analysis study is less. Therefore, this article uses large-scale finite element analysis software ANSYS to analysis the skin effect of multi-storey light steel residential structure system. First, this paper introduces the composition and working principle of skin structure, and components that make up the skin structure, the finite element stiffness is set up for each component of skin structure,and the element stiffness matrix of the monolithic construction is integration. Then, on the design of the model, the paper chooses a multi-layer layer (6) residential arrangement of three rooms and two hall and two toilet, it establishes two models which are frame structure without skin plate and framestructure with skin plate by Beam188unit and shell63unit of ANSYS. Static and dynamic analysis was carried out on the two models respectively, dynamic analysis including modal analysis, response spectrum analysis and time history analysis. To summarize and analyze the results obtained in the last, the skin action can change the stress state of the structure, the stressed skin action reduces the deformation of loaded structure and increases the stiffiless of the whole buildings obviously,enhance the overall stability of the structure.
