This dissertation is about a fundamental research which is assumed by graduate school of Repm Electrical Machines & Control Technology-the research of the principle of direct torque control (DTC) for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The goal is to develop the technology of motor control especially for PMSM.This dissertation introduces the background and significance of the research and the present situation and developing prospect of permanent magnet synchronous motor. The paper researches a general asynchronism motor direct torque control firstly in order to get some key technique of DTC. The character and the insufficiency of the common control strategy of DTC are analyzed on the basis of studying the principle of DTC for PMSM. It is found out that how the zero vectors took effect on the motor. Some method for optimum the performance of system is put forward. Some simulation waveforms and results are acquired. Finally compared direct torque control to vector control, give some conclusion about it. The results of simulation shows that it has better dynamic performances to apply the DTC technique on PMSM and the achievements of the research have very important reference for continual research.
