With the development of urban planning theories and practices, urban planning is playing more important role in the process of urban constructions, and at the same time, urban planning is becoming more open than ever, thus, it has to face more relations and conflicts which need to be settled. This is just what we will discuss in this dissertation—public relations in urban planning(UPPR).With the help of modern public relations theories, based on the urban planning practices of Baoshan district, we analyze the UPPR thoroughly, just to make the UPPR more systematic and methodic, then we can find the corresponding solutions and effective mechanism.According to the conditions that the relevant research about UPPR is relatively little and not normative enough, so some innovations are done in this dissertation, for example, we divide the UPPR into internal UPPR and external UPPR, which are both analyzed and stated carefully and thoroughly, including some relations neglected before. On the basis of the work being done, we make a careful analysis of the situation of UPPR, and give some solutions and suggestions, combining the latest PR theories and advanced overseas experiences. For example, we introduce the method of information feedback via internet and method of Planning Through Debate and some others into UPPR, including my suggestions and advice. As everyone knows, the UPPR is so complicated that it can not be stated clearly in just one dissertation and can not be accomplished in an action. So we sincerely hope that UPPR can draw attentions from some experts and specialists to make the UPPR more systematic and practical. In the finality, we hope some problems requiring further studies and analysis will be discussed by more experts and scholars.
