Research On Public Participation In City Planning Implementation

Since the mid-sixties of the 20th century, public participation becomes an important part of urban planning in western society. Since the 1980s, Public participation in urban planning concept is introduced from the western countries into our country. Along with the deepening of China’s reform and opening up and a high standard of living urban, planning needs to coordinate the various interests. Therefore, it is necessary to establish consultation mechanisms. In this context, At present in China’s southern city has some relatively mature public participation in urban planning practice. In Dong Sheng District of Ordos city, urban planning public participation also exists many problems. Therefore, this article will analyze the situation of urban planning public participation in Dong Sheng District of Ordos city and give some suggestions.This paper uses the case study method and literature method to investigate the public participation in urban planning. Public participation in urban planning problems were analyzed. The present situation of public participation in urban planning was analyzed and compared in foreign countries and China’s different provinces and cities. Dong Sheng District of Ordos city public participation in urban planning implementation is proposed. According to the research of questionnaire survey and the development trend of public participation, this paper puts forward the countermeasures of perfect the public participation in urban planning.This paper argues that perfecting the Dong Sheng District of Ordos city public participation in urban planning should be from the change in public opinion, improve the public professional knowledge, improve the policy system of safeguard measures, strengthen planning transparency and supervision, construct platform for urban public participation, government ruling idea transformation and the public participation mechanism construction, etc.
