To evaluate reliability of microcomputer-based protection, the paper focus onthe research of hardware reliability evaluation of microcomputer based protectionand experiment of stress screening. Reliability model of protection equipment is setup step by step to evaluate reliability index quantitatively. Such as the fault rate andmean time between failure etc. A practical application was given to illustrate themethod of building an evaluation model. The reliability enhancement testing methodis used to check the reliability of microcomputer based protection devices, by whichmicrocomputer based protection devices environmental stress screening conditionwas found, the defect caused by design and manufacture can also be found inadvance, which can be a reference for the reliability design of the hardware, and afterrefinement the reliability of microcomputer based protection devices can beimproved. The result shows the technique is applicable to evaluate the reliability ofmicrocomputer-based protection.
