Proceeding from the fundamental units of human life—daily life residential group , is an effective wayto enhance the quality of residential environment.For the environmental design of human settlents in urban areas , based on the structure of urban residential areas this study associates, the types of land—use, facilities, space and landscape in traditional planning and design of residential structures with patches, corridors and matrices in landscape ecology, so the relationships among mass flux, energy flow and the structure of ecosystems in ecology and design of residential structures have been established, and the environmental aspects have been combined into designs residential areas. Discussed no—obstacle design especially.Summarizes related principles and tactics when we take advantage of ecological elements (climate,the shape of site, water, plant, culture and etc) in design referring to the basic concepts of ecological project, the text has carried on research and discussion to the method of design of the urban residential ecological environment.
