With the progress of the modern education, recently the construction of universities and colleges have been brought into hotspot at home.The holistic pedagogical building is a pedagogical syntheses, which is mostly composed of the large classroom, the medium-sized classroom, the small classroom, the laboratory, the workroom and all kinds of commonality rooms, etc. Study on the utilizing efficiency of the whole pedagogical building is one of the evaluation to the succendent use of the pedagogical building. The utilizing efficiency of the pedagogical building is high or low, which reflects rationality, economy of the setup of the pedagogical space on a certain extent, in addtion, it is an important index with regard to the pedagogical building is good or bad in design.The paper chooses five different universities in layout pattern as study objects, which studies and analyses the utilizing efficiency of the pedagogical building in the following two aspects: function space and multivocal non-function space. Moreover, according to the results of data statistic and questionnaire investigation, the paper studies further and finds out some deficiencies in design, then put forward some amelioration advices. Accordingly, these may improve the validity of the pedagogical space and make the most of resources in later use stage.In recent years, the holistic pedagogical building is a new member in the pedagogical building at home, so it is necessary that some studies on it must carry through in practice continously, on a basis of these studies, may further improve some design ideas and design methods.
