Frame supported short pier shear wall structure with transition floors is a useful structure pattern with good ability in resisting seismic load. The lower part is frame with large opening column-grid while the upper part uses short pier shear wall with wide openings. So this structure decreases the difference between stiffnesses of lower part and upper part. To date, structure engineers still adopt designing method of frame-shear wall structure rather than considering common action of pier wall and transition beam and the problem of stress-distribution complication arises from here. This paper provides the research object which is a 13-stories frame supported short pier shear wall structure with different pier strength coefficients and integrity coefficients, focus on stress distribution of two-short-pier shear wall and three-short-pier wall under vertical loads and horizontal loads. It also concludes variational rules of internal force of transition floors in this structure. So it provides foundation for structure analysis and designing. Main conclusions as below:1. The results demonstrate that the influence on the pier stress induced by transfer beam is confined in the upper layer of the transfer beam under vertical loads.2. For frame supported double-short-pier shear wall under vertical loads, the non-noding area of transfer beams turns into a member of flexure and tension with small axial force, and bending stress dominates in the stress distribution on the cross-section. In the nodding area, the axial force increases while the bending effect is small.3. For three-short-pier shear wall under vertical loads, the results remain the same, and transfer beam at this moment will work with the middle pier, constituting a T-shape beam to sustain the moment and axial tensions together.4. Under the horizontal loads, the inner stress distribution in the frame supported short-pier shear wall shows similarities with that of the short-pier shear wall underneath the fastened supports.
