Face gear(FG) drive has many unique advantages and geometry phenomenon as a new type gear drive. In this thesis the generation of orthogonal-aligned-shaft Face Gear, Finite Element Analysis(FEA)of the bend stress and contact stress of the FG drive are studied.The investigation on the generation of FG is made by the derivation of equations of FG tooth, contact lines on tooth in meshing, plane of action and fillet surface, and by the visualization of contact lines, FG tooth surface and fillet surface.The research of the bend stress of FG drive is made by the use of Finite Element Analysis(FEA). The influence of the force location on the calculating stress of the bend strength is considered. The distribution of the bend stress of FG has been gotten.The investigation on the contact stress of FG drive is made by FEA.The distribution of the contact stress of FG is obtained in the different meshing locations during the meshing.
