The power network detection information system based on GSM network is an intelligent product with computer technology, GSM mobile communication technology and signal processing technology, it can allow the real time detection of the voltage of the electricity transmission lines, can report the malfunction of the lines to the supervision center and the operators, and even can control relevant electricity equipments. This is very meaningful for the reduction of malfunction of power network and the enhancement of the security and effectiveness of the operation of the power network.To choose suitable communication method to transmit data and commands is key to fully realize the detection and management of power network. The communication issue is very important for remote control system. According to the distribution characteristics of the power network, the system proposed by this paper chooses mature GSM communication network to transmit the detection and control information to solve the problem better. The system realize the bi-directional transmission between remote detection and control unit and the supervision center with the SM transmission function of GSM terminal, meets the requirement that supervision center need to supervise the operation of the power network from remote sites only through GSM communication network.This paper firstly discusses the characteristics and advantages of the information transmission through SMS provided by GSM network theoretically and systemically, discusses the necessity and possibility of the application of the technology into the power network detection information system, demonstrates the specifications and standards of the wireless communication interfaces used in the systems; then, it demonstrates the constitution of the power network information system based on GSM network and the process of the operation of the system, based on this, proposes the project of one small size , cost-effective , convenient and high reliability remote detection and control unit. After that, this paper depicts the method to control cell phone module to receive and transmit SM with AT commands through RS232 interface, and demonstrates the hardware system, chip choice, and flow of each module of the system in detail.
