"Research on City Relocation and Environment Protection of The Three Gorges Reservoir District"is an important part of Sciences of Human Settlements in Three Gorges Reservoir District. Since The Three Gorges Project is a mega-system of engineering, the ecological equilibrium and environment protection met a challenge from it. Paying close attention to the relationship of environment protection and removed cities is benefit to the sustainable development of Three Gorges Reservoir District.Within the frame of Sciences of Human Settlements, author investigated the phenomenon during the course of cities'relocation & reconstruction, inquired into the success & failure of environment protection,and put forward some suggestion & measures. All of the research, analyse, summarize and conclusion are base on flexible application of both urbanplan theory and environmental science.Though eco-city is the ultimate aim of city construction in Three Gorges Reservoir District, nowadays, comprehensive polution treatment is the only settlement of the system engineering problem which including environment protection & environmental installations construction.This dissertation is totally divided into six chapters:Chapter one is the introduction. It define the content, orientation, frame of the research.Chapter two put forward the basis theory, and sum up the effect of ten years'process of The Three Gorges Project.Chapter three include the current situation research of relocated cities'envioroment, and it point out the problem of pollution source, installation construction, and consciousness.Chapter four and chapter five respond the former problems. Chapter four search the proper method of environmental planning by the means of comparison and exemplification. Chapter five analyse the interactional environment protection probleums with the stand of urbanplanning theory.Chapter six is the epilogue. Based on the former research , it draw a conclusion and put forward the proposal of build eco-city in The Three Gorges Reservoir District.
