If the security can be ensured, generating electricity beyond the designed capability is an effective means to release the tensities of the electric power purveyance. It is unavoidable, the coal-conveyer-gallery works with double feeding straps, when generating electricity with full or beyond designed capability. It is a problem must be seriously treated with, the security of the structure, when works beyond the designed capability. Especially, those long-span coal-conveyer-galleries, which always be built with steel structure, can get security hidden dangers, because of the rusting of steel. On the other hand, for these long-span structures, the seismic behavior is a thing worthy of to be discussed. Therefore, to evaluate the security of the long-span coal-conveyer-galleries, to ensure the structure is used on the safe side and to give guidance to reinforcement of the structures, it is very necessary to find a suitable checking computations means to these structures.In this paper, reference to NO.1 coal-conveyer-gallery of Jiangjin Luohuan power plant, the three-dimensional finite element modal is built with the famous software—ANSYS based on the blueprint of it. What's more, discussion about the mechanical simplification and some details of the modal are referred to. Then, the static analyses and the dynamical analyses are achieved with the three-dimensional finite element modal.When proceeds the static analyses, the contrastive computations are achieved under different rusting degree and different carrying conditions. The results indicate that, with the existing rusting degree, it is doable that the coal-conveyer-gallery changes its coal- conveyer mode from designed single strap feeding to anticipant double straps feeding. However, if the rusting degree develop to the degree, which is defined in this paper as"farther rusting degree", some components of the fifth span of the structure will meet problems with shortage of intensity or stability when it works with double straps.When proceeds the dynamic analysis, at first, the dynamic characteristics are get by a mass of computations. Then several methods of the seismic behavior analysis are introduced and compared, and, according to the structure characteristics of long span and complexity, the random vibration method is chosen to do the seismic behavior analysis. Special effect is studied and compared, as well as, traveling wave effect and partial correlative effect. Further more, some different methods, which are used to get the equivalent ground acceleration PSD (power spectral density), are compared. The iterative arithmetic is chosen to compute the ground acceleration PSD, which is equivalent to the standardized response spectrum. According as the and , the earthquake response analyses are achieved under two different conditions. Different results between uniform ground excitation (ignoring the special effect) and considering special effect are compared under both conditions.
