Study On Drivers' Perception Of Road Safety With Virtual Reality Technology

In the combined operation system of DVR(drive-vehicle-road and environment) ,driver is the chief factor which influences road traffic safety , besides, the information of the road condition and environment have a great influence on drivers' road safety . So it is significant on road and traffic safety design research to measure the perception of safety among various road conditions. Research indicates it need expend a great deal of manpower and material resources that sets up physical models or experiments in the practical road and traffic environment. Therefore, through the virtual reality technology aimed at reality road line type, road surface condition, traffic environment implements the computer simulation, the virtual reality technology is significant on the road traffic in practice, which provides the high-tech research means which is economical and feasible.Surrounding the virtual reality technology and the perception assessment of drivers' road safety, the dissertation realizes comprehensive assessment model of road safety perception based on virtual simulation platform, and contracts with the assessment of actual road, also proves that the virtual reality technology is feasible in the assessment research of drivers' road safety.1. This dissertation studies the 3-D model technology of road and environment in the combined operation system of DVR. This dissertation puts forward the method of road modeling and the method of scene in the Multigen Creator, and gets 3-D road and scene modeling based on the typical section of Class One,Class Two,Class Three.2. This dissertation studies analyses that the influence that each factor of virtual roads against the perception of drivers' safety. This research organizes 53 drivers who are in different age phases, and puts up the field perception evaluation tests in the virtual simulation laboratory of combined operation of DVR, also ensures the distribution of the assessing indexes' influence on the perception of drivers' safety.3. This dissertation studies fuzzy evaluation method of the safety perception factors to road conditions of road conditions of driver on the basis of the effective comment data.
