The R.C. frame structure with special-shaped columns is one kind of new residential building which has only been researched in the recent 20 years. This type of building is filled with lightweight material filler-walls that make it lightweight, heat-preservation and benefit to the anti-seismic design. In the practical engineering, the frame-structure with special-shaped columns has obtained great society and economic benefit. This kind of structure has been popular used in Guangzhou, Tianjin and Shanghai etc. The practice proved that the frame structure with special-shaped columns has so many advantages such as being changed easily, economical and low price, what's more, its residential environment is better than normal RC structure and the space can be taken efficiently advantage of. The R.C frame structures with special-shaped columns used in residential construction in recent years, for their unique qualities, are widely welcomed by the users and have been gained a wide development.Currently, the study of R.C frame structure with special-shaped columns has obtained a lot of productions. But because of the section particularity of R.C special-shaped columns, people know not enough about the mechanics performances of the structure, and all kinds of design calculation methods are used and the nation has not formed the unified standards. The R.C frame structure with special-shaped columns hasn't be used widely in the tall buildings, and it needs to be studied more for it being used as widely as the general frame structure in the tall buildings. The design of tall buildings is often controlled by its deformation. The main reason of the structure lateral displacement is the horizontal load. The deformation and the mechanics performance of R.C frame structure with special-shaped columns under horizontal load are analyzed here. Such works are done as follows:(1) The load-bearing property of R.C. frame structure with special-shaped columns under horizontal load is studied.(2) The lateral displacement of R.C. frame structure with special-shaped columns under the horizontal load is calculated.
