Study On The Application Of Arcade Form In Contemporary City And Architecture

Arcade is an important kind of urban architectural type, it widely distributes in southeast Asia and Chinese southern region in which there is much more torridity and rain. In the modern historical Arcade region, Arcade is the " collective memory" in people's city life. In our modern city of tropical zone or semi-tropical zone, Arcade form still has its vital significance. With a dynamic and developmental viewpoint, the dissertation analyzes how Arcade form came into being and develops, and its characteristic, with the help of architectural typology methods, from the relation between Arcade form and the city, and to mold genius loci, and the new interaction of the critical regional factors. Then, with the help of synthesis and induction, it summarizes the developmental direction of Arcade form. Finally, it analyzes and inquires into the interaction relations between Arcade form and the city, in order to realize the paragenesis of Arcade form and the city, and to make Arcade form pass down and develop. This is the article's significance and goal.The paper is divided into five chapters:Chapter 1 mainly elaborates its development history and its domestic and foreign research condition, defining the concept of Arcade form and enumerating some correlative concepts. It also elaborates the background of Arcade form coming to being , the application, the practical significance, research methods, the purpose, and so on.Chapter 2 elaborates the origin of neoteric Arcade, its development, its characteristic and the applications conditions of Arcade form in the contemporaneity conditions. From the origin, the development, and as to today, having experienced the intense impact, the collision and the fusion process between the western culture and the Eastern culture, Arcade form is still full of vitality and vigor.Chapter 3 bases on theory elaboration and noumenal analysis. Basing on an urban viewpoint, from the dual attributes, urban attribute and the architecture individual attribute, combining the factors that affects Arcade form, it analyses the characteristic of Arcade form in contemporaneity conditions and the function of each essential factors. There are many factors that have an important influence on Arcade form. The development, the evolution of Arcade form is a result of all kinds of factors affect together. The comprehensive cognition of Arcade form will help us to achieve inheritance and development of Arcade form better.
