As a new manufacturing mode, networked manufacturing technology which is driven by the development of information technologies and globalization of economics is an important strategy for the innovation of traditional manufacturing industry. And the ASP (Application Service Provider) mode offers a new thought and means to the realization of networked manufacturing technology. The precondition of networked manufacturing technology is the foundation of networked manufacturing alliance. It is worth to be lucubrated to get the best successful alliance considering kinds of factors. On the above-mentioned background and the corporation among die enterprises, this thesis will research the partner selection problem based on the ASP mode in the foundation of networked manufacturing alliance for automobile panel die.Demands for partner selection software system are analyzed, as well as the advantages of ASP mode of the software system and the general process for setting up a networked manufacturing alliance. A three stage partner selection model based on ASP platform for the networked manufacturing of die industry is put forward considering the characteristics of die enterprises cooperation.The first stage is acquisition of potential partners based on ASP platform. A case-based method for searching potential die design partners is proposed. In the method, automobile panel information is the centre of the die design case representation. And a similarity calculation method is proposed, which expresses well the differences among different automobile panels. The second stage is the primary selection of partners.
