With the increasement of instruments and the information shared between them in ultra-precision measurement, the measurement and control networks constructing by RS-232, RS-485, CAN and GP-IB can no longer meet the requirement of high-speed data exchanging between measuring instruments. At present, networks based on Ethernet technology are developing rapidly. Constructing instrument networks by combining Ethernet technology and the traditional instrument interfaces has become a main direction of measurement and control system development.In this thesis, a kind of adapter system realizing the embedded instrument networking is designed. Principal work accomplished:Firstly, instruments accessing Ethernet solution based on ARM core is designed after investigating current solutions. In order to make the measuring devices to meet the requirement of minute extension, low power consumption and high reliability in ultra-precision measurement, ARM7 core based embedded microprocessor S3C4510B is used for network controlling core device; embedded operating systemμCLinux is used for software performing platform.Secondly, ARM7 core based embedded instrument network adapter system hardware is designed. Ethernet feature ARM7 core based microprocessor S3C4510B is used for central processing device. Ethernet hardware interface core components and their peripheral driving circuit are designed. Hardware circuits are designed for instrument interfaces: RS-232, RS-485, IIC and USB.Again, software platform based on embedded operating systemμCLinux is designed, including Boot Loader realization, plant ofμCLinux, interface drivers realization underμCLinux and application development underμCLinux.Finally, improving solution for error controlling algorithms to enhance the reliability of the adapter system designed in this thesis is put forward. Error controlling algorithms are realized by software. Improvement for high speed is put forward according to the working requirements. Theoretical formulae are obtained by derivation. Algorithms are realized under the adapter system hardware platform.
