With the acceleration of the power marketlization process and the implementation of operation mechanism of"Separation of power plant from power network, competitive price for listing power network", generating enterprises have become the main body of competition market, which brings new contents and challenges to the management of power plants. The optimal operation of hydropower plants is mainly the process of ascertaining their spot transactions schedule in the power market mechanism, at the same time, with the increasing development of water power resources, the cascaded hydropower plants becoming more and more. Therefore, in order to adapt to the request of the developing power market, we should make the spot transaction schedule effectively to fully utilize the water resources, and to improve the safely operation ability and the economic benefits of the cascaded hydropower plants. It is of great theoretical and practical importance to study the spot transactions schedule of cascaded hydroelectric plant in power market.In this paper, subjects mainly focused are as follows:Firstly, the thesis analyzes the formation mechanism of electricity price, the components of generation cost and the optimization of the power and price, as well as the cost characters of power generation sets. Based on all above, it presented the meanings of MCP and the forecasting methods, including the linear remove and auto-regression model and artificial neural network model.
