Study On Traffic Organization And Project Evaluation Of Expressway Works Sections

The expressway can supply a capacity of above 25000 vehicles for cars per day and night averagely,and provide parted orientations and roadways for automobiles specially with controlling in and out. With the fast growth of the expressway mileage of our country, traffic volume of expressways also increasing, and some expressways being reconstructed from arterial roads, road surface and traffic facility of the majority of expressways are destroyed with different degrees. Maintenance and construction of expressway are becoming more and more frequent, and it has been one of the most important reasons for the traffic congestions and many traffic accidents on the expressways. So, it is urgent to study traffic organization of expressway works sections.Both domestic and aboard researches are analyzed, and the study issues,emphases and framework of the paper are put forward. Traffic organization and traffic characteristic of expressway works sections are studied. Compared to the basic section of the expressway, there are many evident changes of traffic and road condition between them, and these changes greatly affect the behaviour of the drivers and traffic flow characteristic of works sections. With in-depth analysis on traffic characteristic of works sections, consulting traffic organization of generic road works sections existing,considering travelling particularity of expressway works sections enough,traffic organization of expressway works sections is discussed in detail.Project evaluation methods and project evaluation targets system are analyzed. Through research on project evaluation targets system, saturation degree, average speed, traffic density and average travel delay of works sections are defined to be evaluation targets. And through compare and analysis, dynamic and synthetical project evaluation methods are adopted.In the end, the demonstration of traffic simulation on constructing situation of typical bidirectional four lanes is provided,and the case is evaluated with simulating result.And the evaluation gets across.
