Study On The Organization Plan Of Railway Double-stack Container Train

The emergence of railway double-stack container transportation (DST) is a revolution in the history of container transportation. It is one direction of our country's railway goods transport, which can reduce operating costs per unit by 25-40% and raise transport capacity by at least 30%. Many transport organization problems need to be further studied because our country's DST is at the initial stage.On the basis of summarizing experience of foreign DST and development reality of domestic DST, this paper analyzed the category and development conditions of double-stack container train. This paper also studied the organization principles and forms of double-stack container train, the methods of determining the operating and running plan of double-stack container train, and the contents of station organization of double-stack container train. Through forecasting OD container volume on Beijing and Shanghai railway, the operating and running plan of double-stack container train on this railway is determined.
