Research On BIW Welding And Assembly Planning System Based On Knowledge Database

Car BIW (body in white) Welding and Assembly is one of the important processes of car manufacture, which affect directly the car's functions and output. Welding and Assembly Planning System is the integration of all the programming elements for Welding and Assembly process. It is very important to study the system for improving quality and efficiency of BIW Welding and Assembly. Based on the analysis of programming methods and planning situations about BIW Welding and Assembly at home and abroad, a new planning system was putted forward. The new planning system was BIW Welding and Assembly Planning System Based on Knowledge Database, and systematic research on the new system had been carried out. Frame work of the new planning system was analyzed and established. Three core problems of the system were deeply studied, and they were Knowledge Database structure, Search Method choosing and conversion model of BOM constructing. Manufacture Bill of Material (MBOM) in the process of welding and assembly had been discussed. On the basis of theoretical analysis, BIW Welding and Assembly planning System had been developed, moreover, the theoretical correctness and feasibility of the new system had also been proved by cases. The research has important practice significance not only to improving the quality of BIW welding and assembly planning system, but also to further research on application of BOM conversion model in manufacture pocess integration.
