The Design And Implementation Of UPMIS Based On ArcEngine

As a combination of information technology and urban planning, UPMIS (Urban Planning Management Information System) has provided quick and effective ways of obtaining and managing the information and materials in urban planning. In the paper, an urban planning management information system is put forward, based on the analysis of ArcEngine and urban planning's characteristices.At first, according to analysis of ArcEngine and the related technologies, the advantage of applying ArcEngine to develop UPMIS is presented. Secondly, the development and implementation of urban planning management information system based on ArcEngine, which is composed of GIS and MIS, is introduced. Finally, UPMIS based on ArcEngine applied to city planning department of Suzhou, meets the demands of city planning management.The practice shows that the application of ArcEngine in development of UPMIS makes the integration of GIS and MIS. At the same time, the low cost of ArcEngine, which contains strong function, meets the demands of most customers. The flexibility of the system could make the system to adapt the change of daily service. All these research could provide the references for the interrelated research in the future.
