Research On The Development Of 3D Urban Planning Management System

Three-dimensional urban planning management system ( 3DUPMS ) is a computer-aided decision-making system, which is base on many advanced technologies such as network technology, GIS technology, RS technology and virtual reality technology. 3DUPMS helps the department of urban planning administration managing the urban construction projects more intuitively and more accurately by building a virtual reality environment of the urban planning projects. 3DUPMS is meaningful for changing the traditional method of urban planning and accelerating the infomationization of urban planning.In this paper, the involved tool software and workflow of urban planning management were researched, based on these researches, a 3DUPMS design solution were proposed. The main work as following:(1)The analysis of the development tendency of current three-dimensional urban planning management system .(2)The study of key technologies, such as component GIS technology, urban area modeling and visualization technology, SDE technology .(3)Contrast studies of current 3DGIS products and choose TerraExplorer Pro software as three-dimensional display engine.(4)General design, module function design and database design of 3DUPMS on basis of the analysis of business processes of urban planning management.(5)Researches of the key technologies of system development. Conclusions as following:The 3DUPMS which is developed based on TerraExplorer Pro, ArcEngine and ArcSED meets the needs of the department of urban planning administration, at the same time it provides an efficient tool to the department of urban planning administration. The technique route of system development is feasible and advanced.
