| On the basis of a short summary of water security research about intelligent evaluation, it presents that it is feasible and applicable to use general entropy method in water security problems research after a brief introduction of the basic concepts and the primary methods of general entropy method and the applications in the recent years in water resources systems. It points a new research way to water security problems. The major contents are summarized as following:1. A fuzzy pattern recognition model based on maximum entropy principle is proposed, the model is coupled in the improved fuzzy analytic hierarchy process based on accelerating genetic algorithm, which formed a new model, named EFR-FAHP for short, for allocation of region water pollution loads. The research result shows that as a general allocation method for region water pollution loads with distinct concept of mathematics and physics, EFR-FAHP is concise, its computation result is objective and reasonable, so it can be used as a new approach for region water environment management.2. On the basis of traditional pursuit projection method, proposed a multi-criterion evaluation model based on maximum entropy principal (ME-PP), which considered the uncertainty in projection vector quantity optimization and used accelerate genetic algorithm to optimize the multi-criterion object function. According to the tendency relationship of the projection value and standard grade, a cubic tendency curves evaluation model is established. The case study of Huaihe River basin sustainability shows the efficiency of that model. As an evaluation method, it is also suitable for other fields' evaluation problems. Results show that water security problems are the main constraining factors in the sustainable development of the HuaiHe River basin.
