Therefore China railway must accelerate to confront the challenge. So, the strategic shift of China railway from transportation services to the logistics services is an inevitable choice for development by leaps and bounds. Looked at the concept of modern logistics, main transportation enterprises logistics services business functions is step from consigning to delivering. Providing comprehensive logistics information services has become a vital freight operations of the core elements of competition, and cargo tracking customer enquiries information is one of the most needed information. Existing cargo tracking systems are mostly based on GPS System Globe and Globe Tracking System, which is combined with radio electronic label achieved, Such as IT-FRENS sent trace of Japan. Some large domestic logistics (freight) enterprises (such as China shipping logistics GO., LTD) have achieved through GPS tracking of goods in their own carriage positioning. Because the domestic small and medium logistics (freight) are limited to the size of the enterprise and lack funds, they can not use GPS. But to improve the competition of enterprises and to provide better customer service, the drivers of transport equipment are equipped with mobile phones to realize the track of goods. However, China railway just only realizes the large nodes track of freight vehicle. There is some distance to query the track of cargo. Based on the lucubration of the process of railway freight transportation, the thesis adopts EDI technique and discusses the feasible schemes for the inquires of cargo track.The main research contents are as follows:1.
