Prestressed plane cable-arch structure is a new kind of prestressed structure with lots of advantages such as rationally mechanical characteristics, convenience of construction, form succinctness, lectotype novelty. The main purpose of this paper is to find some efficient methods on reliability analysis and design of prestressed cable-arch structure, which make them leave a reasonable margin of strength as well as stiffness when taking account of the uncertainty of design factors.Main contents of this paper are as follows:1. The application and classification of cable-arch structure.2. Introduction of research status in quo and methods of calculating system reliability that presented by scholars at home and abroad.3. Study on a method that is suitable for calculating the reliability of plane cable-arch structure. Using multi-level method, the plane cable-arch structure can be divided into three sub-systems i.e. cable, arch and support bar. Further, the three sub-systems can be divided into sub-systems of next level, whose logic relationships are analyzed. The disciplines for dividing multi-level systems are also studied.4. Combining cut-off enumeration method, response surface method based on finite element, Monte-Carlo method and interference theory for load effect and structure resistivity, the displacement reliability and carrying reliability of plane cable-arch structure are calculated. When calculating carrying reliability, sub-systems'reliabilities are calculated first, and system's reliability is reckoned from them.5. Analyzing the prestress amount's effect on displacement reliability. Studying the relationship between displacement reliability index and prestress amount. Calculating the displacement reliability under two displacement control mode when prestress amount changes and getting the conclusion that displacement reliability improves a lot...
