Study On Rational Scale And Layout Evaluation For Urban Transit Network

Urban rapid transit is a systematic engineering with broad effect, deep comprehension, and huge invest, and is emphasized by the government and social communities.Route network scale and layout planning of urban transit not only are related with investment scale of engineering construction, but also determine operation effect and function of transit in urban transportation system to a large extent, therefore they attract engineering and theory communities'attention. This paper mainly studies rational scale and layout evaluation for urban transit network systematically and expects that the research outcomes could promote the development of the theories and methods for urban transit system planning.On the basis of concluding existing research findings, this paper starts from analyzing the basic construction condition of transit and summarizes the merit and defects of transit. Based on analyzing the development condition of foreign cities, the paper uses methods of numeral statistics and regression analysis, and proposes empirical formula of urban transit construction scale that considers economic factor.In the aspect of researching rational scale of transit network, the paper analyzes existing condition of urban rapid transit network in China and proposes that the scale of urban rapid transit network needs a rational range. At the same time, the paper puts forward the"moderate scale"and"optimum scale"hypothesis theory of urban transit, according to economic theory of scale in western economics. On the basis of analyzing and reviewing existing reckoning methods, this paper puts forward a new method based on the equilibrium theory of supply and demand.In the layout planning of transit network, it starts from analyzing the characters of typical network; combining urban space structure, the paper proposes network layout form that matches urban space structure.
