Research On City Dwelling Exterior Landscape Design

Taking high-rise houses for example, this thesis explores the landscape design method of the exterior space of the city dwelling houses, with an imperative that the landscape design and the architectural design of housing must be combined. A series of analysis steps are applied in this thesis. Firstly, the conception, the principle, the procedure, and the presentation of the housing landscape design are clarified. Second, the various kinds of spatial layout of housing, which may bring people differed visual experiences and feelings, are articulated term by term in this thesis, while the featured exterior space of high-rises is especially underlined. Third, the housing landscape design targets are divided into four types: building, traffic, place, and green. Then, focusing on the high-rises, this thesis makes a thorough discussion on its basic layout, the above four types of housing landscape, and design elements such as the volume, the color, and the material, etc. Finally, a case study on high-rise houses in Shenzhen is done, in order to justify the above analytical modes on the housing landscape design.To sum up, through many in-detail analyses, this thesis attempts to conclude and arrange some original designing concepts and methods, which can serve to offer guidance and advisable information to the exterior landscape design of the high-rise dwelling houses.
