Research On Urban Elderly's Residential Environment

At the beginning of the 21^st century,we have a great longing for a bright future.But, we are also faced with many problems.One great challenge we have to meet is how to improve the residential environment for more and more old people in china.Now a majoring of residential buildings fail to meet the requirements of old people in terms of phyoiology, psychology and behaviour.To improve the quality of old people and help them live a happy life in old age, therefore ,it is quite necessary to provide them with the residential environment that is safe,health,comfortable and convenient.This paper is intended to study the residential environment of old people.Based on an analysis of old people's feeling about their residential environment and the relationship between man,environment and building,the author(in this paper)gives not only a detailed analysis of theories concerning the forming,features,elements,design classification and methods of the indor and outdoor environment but also lots of examples of engineering home and abroad .The author concludes by suggesting the susfainable development idea and design methods used in the improvement of the residential environment.
