A Research On The Residential Environment Of Beijing's Historic Conservation Area In It's Ancient City

The thesis describes how to improve residential environment on Beijing's historic conservation area in it's ancient city. We focus on the methods of improving residential environment for people who live in the ancient city in Beijing. The different view from thesis before is enlarging the research field, not only on architectonics but also including sociology, anthropology and so on. On the basis of all these fields, we did our research on living environment in aged area from tow points: one is material and the other is social environment.The logic of this research is firstly analyzing and evaluating the present situation of residential environment (including material and social environment) in Beijing's historic conservation area in it's ancient city through related theory, references and practical experience. The second is bringing out the ways and methods of improving material and social environment.The object of this thesis is using knowledge in both fields of architectonics and city planning to solve the residential problems in Beijing's historic conservation area in it's ancient city. The instructional idea is discovering from bottom to top and solving from top to bottom, that is, finding problems from the view of citizens themselves and solving these problems professionally. We deal with these problems by architectonics and at the same time make use of sociology method in order to get the aim of"people oriented"and"regarding people lives", finally, the residential environment for inhabitants in Beijing's historic conservation area in it's ancient city will be better improved.
