With the rapid development of technology and domestic economy, the industry production demands higher power quality. But the function of most current domestic power quality monitors is faulty and part of the measure arithmetic used by them cannot satisfy the demand perfectly. In this paper, some methods are proposed to improve the performances of existing flickermeter. A digital flickermete is designed in LabVIEW and the results of RTDS indicate that the designed flikermeter possesses some characteristics such as high accuracy of measurement. Aiming at the defects that lies in current power quality detection equipment,power quality monitoring and analyzing system based on internet is developed in the LabVIEW environment. The results of experiments show that this system can effectively monitor and analyze power quality.
