Since the dissipation of fossil fuel has brought out many serious problems, more and more countries try to find out substitute energy to keep their sustainable developments. Then, people focus on solar energy again. With the penetration of ecology theory, modern architectural design trends go forward to an ecological and sustainable way. The integration design for solar energy system and building has become a crucial strategy to achieve the goals mentioned above.China embraces sufficient solar energy. The solar water heater industry got a prosperous in the latest 10 years. However, many current projects still focus on passive heat-gaining systems only. Energy saving strategies are restricted to few regions, and the efficiency is limited. There are also many difficulties for further development, such as solar product innovation and the combination with buildings. Therefore, the ecological integration design strategies are brought out to solve the problems in practice, which includes site planning, natural lighting and ventilation, solar cooling and heating system etc. The key of integration design is using appropriate technologies to minimize energy consumption while maintaining acceptable building environment. By employing such strategies, buildings are supposed to acquire the best efficiency among regional, economic and social conditions.Response to various climates and custom, diffident areas have different energy efficiency strategies. As it named, the Hot Summer and Cold Winter Region suffers an extreme climate. So the building energy efficiency task should consider both summer cooling and winter heating, while dehumidifying all year round. The Hot Summer and Cold Winter Region shares good economic and social basis, while the problem of building energy consumption is outstanding, it's a typical and proper place to promote integration design. By pointing out the obstacles, strategies and technical approaches of solar building development, this thesis would be helpful to improve the qualities of solar architecture in this region. It may be served as some references for architectural design and inspire the correlative researches on other renewable energy as well.
