The economy and construction industry has a rapid development in hot summer and cold winter region of China, which contributes the severe building energy situation in this area. Therefore, it is very important to conduct building energy conservation in this region. In this paper, a study on energy prediction model of office building was conducted in Shenzhen, a representative city of subtropical region. Through the analysis of building energy efficient design code and references, a typical office building model for energy consumption analysis was established. Based on the building model ,thirteen impact factors of building energy consumption were identified for further study and were classified to three modules :building load, air-conditioning systems and refrigeration equipment. These factors are : (1)Building Orientation(2)Type of Windows;(3)Window to Wall Area Ratio;(4)Type of Walls;(5)Indoor Design Temperature; (6)The Occupancy Density;(7)Lighting Power Density;(8)The Equipment Power Density; (9)Outside Air Flow Per Person; (10) Type of Air Conditioning Systems; (11) Fan Efficiency; (12)Design Chilled-Water Temperature; (13) The COP of Chillers. Orthogonal experiment method and an international authoritative energy simulation software eQUEST were applied to conduct experiments on the model to obtain significant factors. Eleven significant factors on building energy consumption and nine on HVAC system are finally obtained. The eleven significant factors are:(1)Type of Windows;(2)Window to Wall Area Ratio;(3)Indoor Design Temperature;(4)the Occupancy Density;(5)Lighting Power Density;(6)The Equipment Power Density;(7)Outside Air Flow Per Person;(8)Type of Air Conditioning Systems;(9)Fan Efficiency;(10)Design Chilled-Water Temperature;(11) The COP of Chillers. The nine significant factors are:(1)Type of Windows;(2)Window to Wall Area Ratio;(3) Indoor Design Temperature;(4)the Occupancy Density;(5)Outside Air Flow Per Person;(6)Type of Air Conditioning Systems;(7)Fan Efficiency;(8)Design Chilled-Water Temperature;(9)The COP of Chillers. The tests of eleven significant affecting energy consumption factors are arranged, and the experimental data was analyzed to establish multiple regression energy equation using SPSS18.0, which was also used to check the goodness of fit of the regression model. It is found that the model perform well for the test cases. An office building was selected to check the energy model. The relative deviation of the predictive value and the actual value is 7.0%, which indicates that the model has good prediction. Finally, analysis of the single-factor which affecting energy consumption was also conducted, pointing out the focus of energy efficiency in buildings, help designers to do tradeoff analysis on parameters as well as providing a reference for new buildings energy conservation as well as reconstruction of energy-saving for the established building.
