Ecological Approaches Of Landscape Design For High Density Community And Creation Of Healthy Environment

Accompanied with the rising focus on environment protection, to create a natural, ecological and green living environment attracts more public attention in the past decades. Idea of ecological community, together with Landscape Ecology, Ecological Landcape Design or some other new disciplines, was introduced into the process of community landscape design.As China's urbanization rapidly developes, the quick growth of urban population becomes a general phenomenon. In a bid to settle the problem of habitation for millions of citizens, high density community is considered one of the main measures of community construsction. However, ecological design and healthy environment become the aim of high density community. Though the relationship between high density community and health is still under debate, more construction of high density community is inevitable in near future.So what we should do is to study in order to find how to create an ecological and healthy environment in high density community. Studies on ecological approaches of landscape design in China are far behind those in high developed countries, but both the landscape architects and urban designers are eager to konw the answers to the question above.In this thesis, I analyse the temperial background of landscape design for high density community and studies development of high density community both in China and abroad. The thesis firstly explains the concept of high densitsy community, points out the necessary of landscape ecological design and studies the characteristics and approaches of landscape ecological design with the basic theories of ecology, landscape ecology and urban ecology.Besides, the thesis discusses the theory of morden health habitation, valuation system for healthy environment and relation between healthy environment and ecological design. At last, I also analyse the ecological design of high density community baced on a case study, a high density community in Huayuan Road in Beijing and put up some suggestions.
