| According to the latest standard CEMA, the virtual reality-based design system of belt conveyor has been developed, which is based upon the research on long belt conveyor system and its main parts. With object-oriented and advanced database management, computer-aided design and computer graphics, the dynamic graphics components of main parts of belt conveyor are developed. Graphics profile modeling, simulation analyzing and virtual monitoring for belt conveyor are carried out. The 3D models of main parts and the whole belt conveyor are developed, and OpenGL-based 3D virtual scene is built. The 3D dynamic fluid simulation model of hopper is set up. As a result of simulation, the belt conveyor in design is fully assessed, which makes sure that the designed belt conveyor has good performances in static and dynamic.
