On the basis of study on a couple of prevailing field bus, combined with the development of field bus—based simulated monitoring system of marine engine room, the design and technical features of field bus systems are analyzed, the advantages to adopt field bus technology in marine engine room are discussed, the basic operating Principle of CAN field bus is approached, the structural scheme of CAN bus—based monitoring and alarming system simulator of marine engine room(MASSMER) is proposed, and the buildup and function thereof are detailedly expounded to some extent. With the characteristics of actual ship—board MASSMER having been duly considered, this lab—based MASSMER has been designed to have friendly interfaces, convenient operation and management, reliable performance and to be in conformity with the requirements of education and training. During the development of this system, a number of up—to—date technologies in the computer information area have been fully employed such as the technology in field bus, network, NETDDE and InTouch etc. As a result, this system is characterized by the following Points:1. CAN field bus is adopted, which is in conformity with the trend of development of automation control system and with the architecture of typical field bus control system, and objectifies the system's openness, dispersibility and the property of digital communication;2. modular structure is adopted for this system, which is extremely convenient for its further expansion, and improves its reliability;3. experiments and training can be carried out for the benefit of students on this system in the areas of signal measurement, signal transmission, data display, alarm display, modification of parameters, locking and awakening of alarm, extension alarm and simulation tests etc., which will improve the ability of students in the maintenance and management of modern ship—board automation control System;4. the advantages of multimedia technology are embodied to the utmost, with friendly human—computer interfaces and convenient maintenance and management.
