Research On Engine Room Monitoring And Control System Based On LonWorks Technology

Engine Room Monitoring and Control System is a important part of automation system on board, it's main function is to monitor & control working status and data of electrical and mechanical equipments, at reliability is directly influenced with safety navigation. Nowadays the monitoring and control systems based on DCS have been widely used in main engine rooms. However the DCS-based monitoring system can not perfectly meet the requirements of the reliability, maintainability and interoperability owing to its complicated structure and devoted communication stations. The field bus control system suggests a new way to solve these problems.Field bus is advanced industry control technology which rised in the beginning of 1990's.It is the latest control system which is fully digital, open, internal-operated and open network system. Also it is integrated with technology of computer, communication and control(3C). LonWorks is released by American Echelon company and sparkpluged by Motorola and Toshiba together. LonWorks has so many advantages such as high of communication speed, high reliability, easy to connect and high rates of characteristic and price, so it is suitable for bottom monitoring and control in industry.According to the requirement of main classification society and International Maritime Organization(IMO), the paper consider ship fact situation and machine electric equipment work parameter, from system collectivity to design by LonWorks, and design onsite aptitude inspect point for detail, including temperature testing circuit, pressure testing circuit, A/D convert circuit, environment temperature testing circuit, memory circuit and so on, and have no linear compensation and temperature compensation to testing device; Design PC and LON interface circuit, write system soft, driver, communication program and data-base and so on. After circuit testing and program executing, as a result, this way is approved.
