CAPP (computer Aided process planning) appears with the rapid development of modern machinery manufacture and computer technology. It makes use of the practical experiences of technician to process data, to make scientific decision, to create process regulations automatically, to aid the dimension calculation procedure, to plot working procedure drawings, to choose cutting parameter, to aid optimizing process planning and etc. And it also provides a powerful technological support for the digitalization, intelligentization and autoinununization of process planning design.Advancing the functionality, practicality, adaptability and intelligence of CAPP have become the main trend of CAPP development.This paper studies the key techniques of CBR and RBR in CAPP system, which aim at solving the problems of process design and current CAPP systems taking shaft class as object of study.(1) Establishing CBR and RBR storehouse:The examples of CBR storehouse are from the craft (working procedure,labor step) cards of shafts' part in some product.It can transform the content of the craft cards into the language which can distinguish for computer by some knowledge expression's way. Then we will deposit the information into the database through the data management's way. The rule of RBR storehouse from the mechanical craft processing handbook and the rich experience experts who are engaged in the craft work and so on.It can descript the information into the language which can distinguish for computer by some craft knowledge expression way, such as production pattern rule, semantic network, frame and so on. Then we will deposit them in the database.(2) The realization withdraws the similar components or the components similar partial craft information from the example storehouse and appraising the group craft plan: Considered the related factor ,such as he components type, the basic shape, the heat treatment way, the semifinished materials type, the surface roughness and so on,it takes a or many similar factors as the important targets, and uses the related computational method, such as Genetic algorithm, artificial intelligence, circle of similitude and so on, computes between parts similarity factor, then has similarity factor as source parts. Finally, it appraises the multi-group craft plan which retrieves from the database by using the analytic hierarchy process.(3) Establishing technics conflict mechanism: It inspects the conflict of the craft rule between the CBR storehouse which searches new shaft parts craft information and in the RBR storehouse.Then it obtains the new shaft part craft information through the suitable adjustment.Through this paper study, the author thought that CBR and RBR may solve effectively the "bottleneck" question in the craft.
