Along with the fast development of science and technology, the aeronautic equipments become more and more complex. In each life-cycle stage of the equipment including development, design, production, usage, maintenance etc, there will be more information data to be transferred or used. The traditional paper-based manual's usage and management mode has many limitations,such as time-consuming, laborious, time-lapse etc. As the core technology of implementing CALS strategy, Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) can offer the maintainers the real-time, high-efficiency technical guidance and information support, and it plays more and more important role on improving the logistics guarantee level of equipment system. Thus, building an IETM system that is advanced, open structure, met the need of complex equipment which is used now and in future, is important for shortening repair time and improving the equipment maintenance efficiency.This article has studied the key technologies of IETM,designed the project frame about IETM, and stressly researched standard technology, data description and data memory technology of IETM. Finaly, constructed the applied project system about the company of airplane industry and prototype system which skimming over the data of IETM. The main research work is as follows:Firstly, introduced the development of domestic and international technical manuals about aviation maintenance. Then expounded the technical manuals about aviation maintenance and IETM technology in detail. And by studying the foreign platform of creating IETM, it has proposed the principle of researching IETM about the field of aviation maintenance in our country.Secondly, demonstrated the necessary of IETM standardization; analyzed the IETM standard system, and its development trend; suggested the IETM standardization principle in our country; put forward to build the international specification of the IETM according to this principle.Thirdly, studied data description and data memory technology of IETM according to the demands of users in the field of aviation maintenance, confirmed the best way of data description, established the whole frame of data memory and query, realized the conversion from xml data to relational database.Using S1000 standard designed information procedure and system structure of aviation maintenance IETM, applied it to the project system of IETM and designed the frame of every step. In order to explanation IETM , the author established a small prototype system of IETM. The system has the basic function of the forth IETM.Because in our country IETM technology is still at the start stage, this article will provide the technical support and the experience for future IETM system of the aviation field; will accelerate soluting the key technologies of IETM; will fastly establish the standard system of IETM and the platform of creating IETM.
