Digital Maintenance System Development Based On S1000D

Aircraft maintenance technical information is developing to the direction of all digital now. Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals(IETM) has a wide application prospect, which based on S1000 D specification digitizing the maintenance system. IETM solves means of the traditional paper-based aircraft maintenance technical information, significantly improve the efficiency of aircraft maintenance, technical data management, training and so on,significantly boost the benefits of auxiliary maintenance, training and information management. Thus, IETM has been highly concerned in the civil aviation.The concept and theory of the S1000 D Specification are systematically elaborated based on S1000 D Issue 4.0.1and lots of other academic paper. The digital maintenance system is developed based on the practical experience. The main contents include:Firstly, the status quo and tendency of the development of digital maintenance between domestic and internationalare are introduced. The necessity and important meaning of the digital maintenance based on S1000 D for our civil aviation are pointed out.Secondly, the advantage and disadvantage between the traditional paper-based standard and S1000 D Specification are comparative and analysised. The establishment scheme and produce process of IETM system based on S1000 D are also confirmed.Finally, a method of the establishment of the digital IETM maintenance introduced, the development process of the intelligence system for the example of the wing of Boeing-737 is also proposed.Currently, the use of IETM in Chinese civil aviation industry is not advanced enough.Thus, the purpose of this paper is to provides technical support and experience reference for the systematic application of IETM technology for Chinese civil aviation.
