In adaptation to the rapid development and extensive application of the technology of CAN bus,embedded systems,and electronic display,the Automotive instrument have to exchange data and communicate each other with other devices of the car based on area network buses. It will surely promote the upgrading and transformation of the automotive instruments. In the future , automotive instrument will be the integration of multifunction display, automatic drive and multimedia entertainment centers.This thesis focuses on the research of automotive LCD instrument,and it discusses the design and implementation of this system. Theoretically, the instruments collect data of Speed, fuel, temperature, and other from the CAN bus as a nodes, nalysis the data by ARM, display the data use LED simulation and graphics dynamic LCD mode,and it can respond by interactive touch screen. with multifunctional smart and high precision characteristics,not only it takes care of the driver's habits, but also takes use of the advantages of modern electronics.Baseing on ARM Processor ,Embedded is a very good platform for expansion, which is the essential difference between the host and traditional instruments. Main functions : Instantaneous velocity; Accumulated mileage; Temperature; Oil scales; Road suggested; Information of manufacturers; Data analysis; Touch Interface etc.The results prove that the practice is of practical significance,such as readability, accuracy, intelligence, expansibility. And it is the inevitable trend of the development of intelligent digital automobile instrument.
