The Research On Shape Design Of Construction Machinery

Product design is an important component of industry design. The product morphology usually presents the product content externally. But in construction machinery design field ,the appearance of product is still a weak link, which is caused by the mere attention on application of high-technology and multi-functional requirements, as well as the neglect of reflection over morphology ,and the neglect of the connection between function and morphology, form and man-machine. And the weakness has directly resulted in its low competitiveness on the international market. The morphology design of construction machinery is a scientific approach to characterize the functions, materials, crafts, constructions and some other aspects of construction machinery, with the art method, with high-speed development of modern science and technology, human material and spiritual civilization has reached an unprecedented height. So that the artistic modeling of construction machine product is commanded much more imperative than before, to integrate the unification of the function rationality and the external quality, as well as advance of technology and filling the aesthetic requirements.This paper based on the fundament of the morphology theory, aims at satisfying the demands of the morphology design of construction machinery, presents the analysis and research on construction machinery products morphology from aspects of cognitive semantics, functional semantics, the market semantics, semantics aesthetic style, semantic, and summarizes a design rule on morphology design of construction machinery from functionality, ergonomics, Aesthetics etc. Finally, it shows a small excavators design, which takes use of the design rules and demonstrates the analysis. The new excavator has got rid of the past cold and absolutely"unfriendly"appearances, has emerged from the characters which violate the natural humanity. It has improved the coordination and unification of man-machine-environment system.Engineering machine morphology design is a presentation of the human caring, and it is also a thought of coordinating between man and machine. The engineering machine design is an organic unity of art and science.In the future, applying the morphology design methods into the technology-based platform design, to achieve the high-degree integration of human's various needs will be an hard work, especially to our designers.
