The bituminous pavement is the structure layer which directly sustainsthe function of the traffic load and the natural factor. It is paved of bitumenbinder and mineral aggregate. The bituminous pavement has manyadvantages, for example: smooth surface, no joint, comfortable running,wear resistant, small vibration, low noise, short construction time, easymaintenance and suitable for stage construction, so it has more and moreextensive application in the highway engineering field. It is the mainpavement form of our country's highways at present. In recent years, as thecontinuous booming of the transportation market, the highway traffic isbecoming more and more heavily, the load of the car has been increasedmarkedly, highway transportation is gradually developing to be high speed,train, container, and the failures to prohibit the overload and the transfiniterepeatedly, the bituminous pavement can't bear the load then appear variousdistresses, some highway even needs major repair at the year it constructed.This phenomena has seriously influenced the running safety and the healthydevelopment of the national economy. So on the one hand we shouldstrengthen the management of the overload, standardize the transportationmarket by means of administration and financial penalty. On the other handwe must do some thing, energetically strengthening heaven trafficbituminous pavement materials and structure design study to improvehighway load capacity, decrease heavy vehicle destroy happening, adjust tothe growing heavy traffic and overload phenomenon.This article is build on the《Highway Bituminous Pavement DesignNorm》. Put forward heavy traffic load, heavy traffic road divided standardand compose design method of the pavement material suitable to the heavvtraffic. This article studies the force feature, the function divide of thebituminous pavement surface layer construction and the force state of thesemi-rigid base course construction, the compose design method of thedense frame base course mixture; analyzes the pavement property of thebitumen mixture and the border of the coarse aggregate and the thinaggregate; make the graded aggregate test of the bitumen mixture denseframe construction; proves the importance of impose the joint between the layer of the pavement. Based on the plenty of experimental data andanalysis, we point out the optimal theory of the heavy traffic bituminouspavement construction design. This theory has certain directing meaning tothe design and construction of the semi-rigid base layer bituminouspavement.
