Vigorously develop urban public transit is of great significance. The use of information technology to improve transit service levels, public transit trip contribution rate plays an important role. According to the author's survey from Shanghai public transit management department, the Traffic information techinque in China still lags behind the city's traffic needs. Foreign GIS-T application development and research showed that spatial data model is the core area of GIS-T. Nowadays, studies for China's domestic bus spatial data model research is still rare, the paper from the technical reserves perspective, research the spatial data model that suite the Chinese cities of transit management applications need.This paper follow a normal research methods that first discovery problems and followed by analyze the issues and finally solve problems. By review the domestic and international GIS-T Studies and Applications, find what are the China GIS-T application and study problems is. For example, public transit spatial data model is of vacancy ; Through theoretical research and public transit data model research, achieved the basic knowledge and technique for the spatial modeling,and also analysis the progress that current research ,found what are the outcomes and shorcomes. Followed by the analysis of China cities public transport entities characteristics and the traveller's travel process. Finally ,this research proposed a spatial data model to suit the charactristics that analysied above.Through studies, articles advanced, foreign technology and practical experience in the field of public transportation is the foundation and useful reference to China's development of information technology. However, as domestic and international different from the development stages and geographical region, deal with the problem and focus are not the same. Foreign experience can not be copied for China. In this understanding, This paper proposes a suitable public transportation in large cities in China ,a hierarchical model, through the space between the logicof sorting out to establish the overall level of conventional fixed-line fixed bus network and the transfer Links to form the dynamic network, and in accordance with the composition of the different mode of operation can be divided into various different levels. And the hierarchial model is a higer model that established on a consolidated network, so this research finally proposed a metholdology that basied on the liear-reference and dynamic segmentation.
