With the rapid development of information technology and wide use of computer, the application of Computer Simulation is increasingly popular. Marine Engine Simulator is a typical example of Computer Simulation in the field of navigation. Fuel and lubricating oil purifying system is the basement of keeping the marine power system in good condition and marine separator is one of the most important devices in fuel and lubricating oil purifying system. So it is of great importance to master the auto control and operation of the separator. Based on the former simulation technology of marine separator, the software of marine separator system simulation combined with PLC has been designed and realized.This thesis firstly introduced the structure and operating principle of the separator firstly. And then the PLC auto control functions of the separator in detail are designed according to the characteristics of working and requirement. At the same time, the auto control of the separator has been accomplished by selecting hardware and programming. Mathematic model is the key of simulation software. The separator system simulation model is composed of the separating model of the separator itself, models of the affiliated device and fuel oil system model. This thesis described the theory and modeling method of the above models and explained how to convert the models to codes by introducing the design and realization of the controller model and separating model. At last, the whole system simulation software has been developed in the .NET environment by C# programming language. The functions of the software include layout of fuel oil system, layout of lubricating oil system, simulation of auto control and operation of the separator, malfunction simulation, alarm function, data display and export, operation log display and log file saving, curve drawing and so on. The technology of GDI+ and ADO.NET has been applied, and it also has made full use of some other advantages of C# programming language. Finally this thesis has explained in detail about the communication between the PC running the simulation system application and PLC controller, including the application of Prodave and design of communication class.Accomplishment of the PLC auto control system, separator system modeling and development of the simulation system software and data communication between simulation computer and the PLC controller are the most important points of this thesis.
