Multi-Unit NPP Outage Plan Management

Along with the improvement of the equipment reliability and operating level of the generating units, safety in operation of the nuclear power plant is well ensured. The critical factor that affects the financial achievement of a nuclear power plant has turned out to be the outage instead of the operation. The safety, quality, schedule and cost of an outage directly affect the financial achievement of the plant.During a outage of a PWR power plant, besides refuelling, it is also planed to do a mass of preventive maintenances,in-service-inspections and routine tests. The equipment defects are fixed and alterations are made to get better functions. All of these help to improve the stability and safety of the systems.Aim at the characteristics of outage in PWR nuclear plant, this paper introduces the actuality of two-unit outage plan and management according to the practical situation that the NPQJVC faces(changing from two-unit outage to multi-unit outage) ,analyses the fields in management that need improving when multi-unit outage is finally realized: study on the management of outage items and establish an multi-project organization, properly arrange the limited resource. On precondition that the security and quality are ensured, optimize the plan, shorten the duration, finally improve the financial achievement and competitive power.
