Because of the rescue purpose, the ocean-going rescue vessel's reliable operation has a bearing upon not only the safety of rescuers but also the safety of crews and properties on accident vessel. Therefore, the reliable operation of rescue vessel during the rescue is what we try to pursue. As the "heart" of ship, the marine engineering plays a very important role in a rescue vessel's operation, because it provides all the energy needed. In order to solve potential problems which could affect such reliability and make the running of rescue vessels are more reliable in the process of rescue, a study on management of ocean-going rescue vessel's engine room should be carried out.Proceeding from the objective that makes the running of such vessel more reliable, this paper analyses the adverse factors which influence the reliability of marine engineering management while the rescue vessel is in working condition with the Event Tree Analysis and the Analytic Hierarchy Process. Then the marine engineering management can be optimized. In this thesis, I would like to combine my experience and discuss the marine engineering management of ocean-going rescue vessel. This paper would be divided into six chapters:Chapter 1: IntroductionIn this chapter, the significance of the study on marine engineering management willbe discussed.Chapter 2: Reliability outline of Man-Machine-Environment System Engineering In this chapter, the reliability of Man-Machine-Environment System Engineering on rescue vessel will be analyzed through one example component of marine engineering. At the same time factors which may influence the reliability will be pointed out.Chapter 3: Reliability analysis by ETAThe mechanical failures often occur randomly and inevitably. Therefore, we usethe event tree to conduct analysis in both quantitative and qualitative way that how we should guarantee the speedy removal of the failures upon its occurrence in the process of rescue, and then find out the key problems which affect the precision removal of failures. Thus, the reliability of rescue tug is improved and able to provide basis for marine engineering management.Chapter 4: Human factor analysis by AHPIt is often stated that around 80% of all accidents at sea are attributable to humanerror which include misoperation, neglect, incompetence and so on. Chapter 4 analyzes and inducts these factors that can cause human error in the process of rescue and then finds weight relation by the Analytic Hierarchy Process.Chapter 5: Optimization of Marine Engineering Management on rescue vessels According to the results obtained above, chapter 5 gives some suggestions about theoptimization of marine engineering management and the Fourth Generation Management applied to the Engine Room Management of rescue vessel.Chapter 6: Conclusion and expectation.
