With the rapid economic growth and strenuous market competition, China's transportation industry is facing increasing competition and challenges. More and more international logistics enterprises which have high-tech and advanced management concept swarm into China in succession. The manufacturers and logistics'demands are changing. But, in the same time, China's transport industry fall across many problems, such as the intensifying of disorderly market competition, uneven distribution aroused by regional problem, and the incompactly coordination among transport modes. All this has seriously hindered the development of the transport industry, especially the vicious competitions among various modes of transport, have made the entire transport system seizing up. Realizing the coordination among different kinds of transport mode is an effective way to enhance market competitiveness and to seek development.Changchun and Jilin are two central cities in Jilin province. They two cities'total GNP of accounts for about 76% in Jilin province, and the transport corridor between them has very strong impact on Jilin province's economic development. At present, Grade Two Highways, expressways and railways have been constructed between the two cities. In May, 2007, the intercity railway between Changchun and Jilin has started construction. As it completed, the passenger capacity must be greatly enhanced, and the original passenger structure will also be influenced. So, it's practical to study on the coordination between inter-city highway and railway passenger transport, and also to enable them being mutual coordination and promoting development.In the basis of reading bibliography, the author constructed a coordination mode for the inter-city railway and road passenger transport synergy through paper surveys, systematically researched the coordinate problem in inter-city railway and road passenger transport by using qualitative and quantitative analysis, and many positive results have been achieved.The paper contains seven chapters, the following contents shows the major elements of every chapter:Chapters 1, introduce the purpose and significance of the study, research states home and abroad, the main contents used, and the study method. Chapters 2, introduce the theoretical foundation of synergetic, including the basic conception and method, and also analyzing the cooperativeness of transport system.Chapters 3, analyze the characters of technical economy of highway and intercity railway passenger transport. For the reason of synergistic effect of the two ways of passenger transport contains in the regional transport system, they are both competitive and alternative. The chapter also discusses the meaning of synergetic development in highway and railway system, and analyzes the conception, target, and principle of it. In the last, the chapter analyzes the synergetic of these two passenger transport qualitatively and quantitatively, and presenting stable condition interpretation, in the basis of this interpretation the synergetic model between highway and inter-city railway could be founded.Chapters 4, through analyzing the synergetic elements which could influence the highway and inter-city railway passenger transport, this chapter ascertains the optimizing target of highway and railway synergetic model discusses the supposing condition and restricting condition of the model, sets up the linear programming mathematical model. Then, it analyzes the sensitivity of this model, and discusses the parameter'changes when output results in different variation range. Finally, the chapter introduces the model's implementation with computer technology, MFPS software.Chapters 5, the synergetic model of inter-city highway and railway's applications, apply it in Changchun to Jilin's transport corridors. First of all, by predicting and calculating the actual data, the model's relative data could be demarcated, and the output result could be gained by using MFPS software. Secondly, analyzing sensitivity of the model, when the result is gained, the actual data could be used to improve the model.Chapter 6, in accordance with Chapter 3's canalization, these two onshore transportation ways will develop toward overall harmonization. Combining with the relative data, the author put forward some suggestions and advice, that, when developing highway and railway passenger transportation, both demands of programming and construction should be considered, striving to achieve information, ensuring the information sharing, and developing the integration of highway and railway's development.Chapter 7, summary and outlook, about the achievements we have got and the further research. In the course of the study, author focus on the qualitative and quantitative analysis and also the level of clarity. The innovation points are presented in the following aspects:1, provide the theory foundation for setting up models by qualitative and quantitative analysis.2, use linear programming methods to build up the model, and presenting the varieties of influencing factors in the form of parameter in the model.3, use the empirical approach to analyze the Changchun-Jilin intercity railway data, to improve the model.
